Ulcerative Colitis is a chronic inflammatory disease of the colon in which symptoms include bloody diarrhea, crampy abdominal pain and severe urgency to move the bowels. Diagnosis may require x-rays as well as procedures such as Sigmoidoscopy or Colonoscopy.
